The ancient Mayan pyramid of Kukulcan, built about 1000 years ago in honor of the feathered-serpent god, is the main attraction of the Chichen Itza archaeological site in the state of Yucatan, southeastern Mexico. It is called "El Castillo", Spanish for "the castle". Curiously, it has 365 steps. It was recently voted as one of the New 7 Wonders of the World.
